A day-long awareness-cum-inspection drive of labour camps/ quarantine centres in the Batalik area was carried out by the  Department of Labour, Kargil on May 17.

Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), Kargil, Raziya Khatoon briefed the workers about the etiquettes and behaviour which needs to be practised religiously to stop the spread of COVID-19. She urged the labourers to remain properly masked all the time and report any sort of complications or symptoms immediately to the concerned authorities for early diagnosis and treatment.

Later, the ALC also met In charge Army officers and urged them to provide properly ventilated accommodation to the labourers and monitor their health status on regular basis. She also expressed her satisfaction with the arrangements been made by the Army for the labourers.

Raziya Khatoon also inspected different construction sites in and around the Batalik sector to check the adherence of COVID-19 SOPs by the contractors and labourers in the area. She also distributed masks among the construction workers.
