L-G sanctions ₹ 65,53,000 in favour of registered labourers of UT Ladakh

In another move to help labourers in Ladakh amid the crisis of COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, the 2nd instalment of ₹ 1000 each was approved to be paid to the registered labourers of Leh and Kargil districts on May 11.

R. K. Mathur, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh sanctioned a total amount of ₹ 65,53,000  out of which ₹ 30,90,000 for Leh and ₹ 34,63,000 for Kargil districts in favour of the Registered Construction Workers of UT Ladakh.

An amount of ₹ 1000 each will be disbursed by Assistant Labour Commissioner, Leh and Kargil to the registered labourers under Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board through DBT in their individual bank accounts for the purchase of ration during the lockdown period.
