L-G Mathur discusses formulation of Vision Document 2050

Lieutenant Governor, R K Mathur discussed the formulation of Vision Document 2050 during the second Planning Board meeting on December 18. 
 
CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan; CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyaltson; MP Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgial; Advisor to LG Ladakh, Umang Narula; Commissioner Secretary, Rigzin Samphel; Divisional Commissioner Ladakh/ Secretary Planning Saugat Biswas; Additional Secretary Ravinder Kumar and other members of the Planning Board attended the meeting.
 
R K Mathur said that Ladakh Vision 2050 is a broader plan to stay updated with the changing time and requirements of the people of Ladakh. He said that this will help UT Ladakh to take the best approach to get feasible solutions in all the sectors. He added that Vision 2050 is subject to review depending on the vision and action plans of individual departments, availability of budget, administrative strength, and ability of the departments to implement it on the ground. 
 
Mathur stressed that Vision 2050 should reflect the reality of Ladakh, and strike a balance for the welfare of people.

According to him Vision 2050 should be Ladakh-specific and in harmony with its unique culture and identity. The concerns of the people of Ladakh such as protection of culture, land, environment, and jobs would be incorporated as valuable inputs in Vision 2050.

One of the major objectives of Vision 2050 is to achieve the goals set by the Prime Minister of India to make Ladakh a carbon-neutral region in the country.
 
LG informed that Ladakh Vision 2050 was put in the public domain for more than three months to seek suggestions and feedback from the public. The comments and feedback received would be incorporated into the final draft of the document.

He thanked various ministries of the Government of India, Niti Aayog, and Ernst & Young for their support and help in preparing Ladakh Vision 2050. He said that Vision 2050 is the perfect opportunity to build a New Ladakh.
