L-G inaugurates medical equipment at District Hospital, Kargil

Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra in the presence of MP, Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon inaugurated 160 slice CT-Scan machine, Modular Operation Theatre (MOT) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at District Hospital, Kargil on January 20.

Executive Councillor, Social Welfare/ Agriculture, LAHDC Kargil, Aga Syeed Mujtaba Mussavi; Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse; Superintendent of Police Kargil; Anayat Ali Chowdhary, Director Health Services, UT Ladakh; Dr Motup Dorje, Chairperson, Haj Committee UT of Ladakh; Mohammad Ali Majaz, Chief Medical Officer Kargil; Dr. Kacho Liyaqat Ali Khan and other officials were present during the inaugural ceremony.

While speaking on the occasion, LG affirms, PM Narendra Modi's dedication to nationwide progress, ensuring amenities reach every citizen. He assured that a state of art MRI machine would be purchased for the hospital, ensuring timely procurement. Highlighting women empowerment led by the Modi government, 33 percent reservation for women in elections announced.

Emphasising national development, he also underscores the pivotal role of women's education, recognizing its significance in fostering progress and advancement for the nation.
He urges doctors to exhibit dedication and prioritize patient welfare addressing healthcare priorities.

DC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse while giving cost details said that 160 slice CT-Scan machines cost 7.6 crore, while as Modular Operation Theatre (MOT) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) cost 2.67 crore and said it was monitored by LG for its timely completion.

LG also visited GM Pore Hospital Kargil, took a detailed assessment of services provided to the patients inspecting its various sections such as delivery room, operation theatre, etc, and enquired about the facilities available.
Affirming his commitment, the Lt. Governor said the UT administration is committed to corruption-free and delay-free Ladakh.

Councillor GM Pore, Syed Ali also apprised him about the dearth of doctors in the hospital.
