L-G convenes meeting with departmental secretaries Reviews progress of ongoing/ pending works, issues

Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) convened a meeting with Departmental Secretaries and Head of Departments (HODs) at Raj Niwas on October 6 and reviewed the progress of ongoing/pending project works.
 
L-G discussed various such as the non-issuance of tickets and the non-availability of conductor in the e-bus operating on the Leh-Kharu route; the progress on the purchase of the MRI machine for the Kargil District Hospital; the formation of the committee in the transfer/detachment of teaching/non-teaching staff due to closure of school or medical cases; the need for clarification of recruitment of candidates from Leh district only for 125 posts issued by NWF ITBP; the need for proper Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for deposition of arms issued to police personnel; the update on deposition of pending dues by defaulting officials along with the tendering of Moonland Hotel for its operation; the proposition to give the operation work of Ladakh Emporium at Delhi to SIDCO; the number of Recruitment Rules of gazetted posts shared with UPSC; the transfer of eight tehsildar/SDMs from UT of J&K; the progress on shipment and distribution of pashmina goat pens among beneficiaries to reduce the mortality rate of pashmina goat kids in the winter months; the settlement of issue of aspirants seeking Rewa scholarship; the identification of site for Sindhu Central University; the progress on establishment/submission of DPR/staff creation for Medical College/Engineering College/Government Degree College at Sankoo; the need to prepare a schedule for clearance of garbage in higher reaches of Ladakh; the update on the selection of the final logo for Tourism Department of UT Ladakh; the meeting with concerned stakeholders on Vibrant Villages Programme; the tendering process for helicopter services in Ladakh; the extension of Kargil Airfield; the progress on Back to Village Programme; the procurement of rice for its distribution to beneficiaries under PDS; the progress on the saturation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JMM) scheme in Ladakh; the progress on blacktopping/macadamisation of internal roads in Upper and Lower Leh areas; the transfer policy of doctors/medical staff; the complaint against medical staff at Kargil district Hospital for not providing adequate medical treatment and carrying out operations of patients; the update on the rehearsal of cultural troupes comprising boys and girls from Ladakh for the celebration of UT Ladakh Foundation Day at various Raj Bhawans in all states/UTs along with providing them with local instruments, etc.

The Departmental Secretary/HOD was asked to ensure that the Ladakh Emporium at Delhi is made an earning proposition and to work hard for its success. He also instructed the concerned officials to look into the matter to relieve employees from J&K who have worked for at least two years or above. He further instructed that letters may be forwarded to the concerned Councillors to tackle the issue of pollution of water and dumping of waste in nullahs/water bodies by making these acts condemnable and also to raise awareness among the public about using the water judiciously.

LG instructed that the transfer policy of government employees should be rationalized and the need to review the cases of employees who have been working at a particular station/place for more than three years. He also instructed the Commissioner Secretary, the Tourism/Culture Department to ensure proper meals and drinking water along with proper hygiene and sanitation of boys and girls who are rehearsing for their performance during the UT Ladakh Foundation Day in all states/UTs.
