Khidmat-e-Awaam programme held at Hardass, grievances addressed
Khidmat-e-Awaam outreach programme under the initiative “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore”, aimed at ensuring doorstep delivery of public services, was conducted at Hardass on March 18.
During the programme, Tehsildar Kargil Ayad Ahmad Bhat JKAS, along with the Councillor of Chuliskamboo constituency Altaf Hussain, Executive Officer MC Arifa Iqbal, and officials from various departments, listened to the grievances of the villagers.
At the outset, departments including Medical, Rural Development, PHE, I&FC, PDD, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Handicrafts, Handloom, Social Welfare, Cooperatives, Labour, Sheep Husbandry, DIC, Mechanical, NRLM and PWD, besides banks such as J&K Bank, SBI, HDFC and ICICI, set up stalls and disseminated information regarding various beneficiary-oriented schemes and self-employment opportunities.
The villagers raised several issues including implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), lift irrigation schemes, fencing of graveyards, road connectivity, installation of electricity poles, establishment of a library, stray dog menace and anti-encroachment drives. The Tehsildar directed the concerned departments to take early action for resolution of the issues. He also encouraged residents to avail services through the Ladakh Land Records portal.
Later, the Tehsildar along with the Councillor visited Middle School Hardass, Graveyard Thang, High School Hardass and Ayushman Arogya Mandir and addressed the JJM issues of Hardass Gund. He inspected the functioning of schools, enrolment and infrastructure requirements, and reviewed the daily operations at the health centre.
He also inspected the library and directed for provision of a water connection, including creation of a proper reservoir or distribution from the existing water supply system.
During the “Sham-e-Awaam” interaction, the Tehsildar engaged with villagers and sought their feedback for strengthening such outreach programmes.
Discussions were held on curbing drug abuse, enhancing employment opportunities, benefits of irrigation canals and effective conduct of Gram Sabhas.
On the occasion, one Ladakh Resident Certificate was also distributed to a beneficiary. The villagers appreciated the initiative and urged the administration to continue organising such programmes in future.
