A Khidmat-e-Awaam outreach programme under the flagship initiative “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore,” aimed at ensuring doorstep delivery of public services, was successfully conducted at Taisuru in Sankoo on March 18.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents and was attended by former Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo, Salim Wazir; Chief Guest Er. Mohd Hassan Lone; Block Medical Officer (BMO) Sankoo; former Councillor Syed Abbas; and officials from various line departments.

During the programme, officers from multiple departments highlighted various government schemes and welfare initiatives related to health, agriculture, horticulture, rural development, revenue, and other sectors. On-the-spot grievance redressal was also carried out.

A comprehensive medical camp was organised, offering essential services such as blood tests, blood sugar tests, and blood pressure check-ups. Registration under the Ayushman Bharat scheme was facilitated on the spot. The BMO Sankoo also informed residents about the generation of e-ticket IDs for streamlined hospital registration and encouraged them to avail available healthcare services. However, residents raised concerns regarding healthcare infrastructure and demanded the upgradation of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) to a Community Health Centre (CHC).

The Agriculture Department highlighted schemes related to greenhouse cultivation and organic manure preparation, including pit-making techniques and financial assistance. The Horticulture Department informed residents about schemes such as fencing for crop and orchard protection.

The Cooperative Department shared information on promoting homestay facilities for groups of beneficiaries to enhance livelihood opportunities and encourage self-employment.

The ICDS Department elaborated on schemes such as “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi” and programmes for adolescent girls, including supplementary nutrition and support for pregnant women, urging greater public participation.

The Rural Development Department emphasised sanitation under the Swachh Bharat Mission and informed that free dustbins are being provided to promote cleanliness. Issues related to waste segregation were raised, to which the department assured necessary action.

The Revenue Department facilitated on-the-spot processing and issuance of domicile certificates and addressed related grievances.

Residents also raised several developmental concerns, including the repair of irrigation canals in Kargi Taisuru, establishment of a high school, and provision of winter hostel facilities for economically weaker students. Issues related to the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, including submersible pumps and implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), were also highlighted. The concerned departments assured that these issues would be addressed in a time-bound manner.

A representative from the banking sector sensitised residents about rising incidents of financial fraud, particularly OTP-based scams and digital payment frauds, advising vigilance during online transactions and unknown calls.

Overall, the programme proved beneficial in facilitating public outreach, spreading awareness, and ensuring timely grievance redressal, thereby strengthening the interface between the administration and the people at the grassroots level.
