A Khidmat-e-Awaam public outreach programme was successfully organised at Goshan in Drass Sub-Division of Kargil district, witnessing significant participation from local residents and officials from various government departments.
The programme was organised by the District Administration with the objective of promoting good governance and ensuring doorstep delivery of public services. It was conducted under the directions of the Chief Secretary of Ladakh as part of the ongoing district-wide outreach initiatives under the Khidmat-e-Awaam programme.
The programme was held under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Drass, Vishal Atri. During the interaction, residents actively participated and raised several developmental concerns. Key issues included the construction of an irrigation canal, establishment of a ration store at Goshan, construction and improvement of the main road from the bazaar to Goshan and its adjoining links, and installation of submersible pumps.
Officials from various line departments interacted with the public, listened to their grievances, and assured appropriate follow-up action. The programme provided an important platform for direct engagement between the administration and the local population. The administration also informed residents about available online government services.
The District Administration reiterated its commitment to strengthening public service delivery and ensuring that government services reach every corner of the district through such outreach initiatives.
