Kargil sets up 382 vaccination booths in different parts

To review the preparations being put in place for the implementation of Phase I of the Pulse Polio Immunization programme, Haji Gulzar Hussain, DC convened a meeting of the concerned officers on January 23 in Kargil. 

During the vaccination campaign as many as 382 vaccination booths were set up in different parts of the district.  A total of 18,940 children from 0 to 5 years were vaccinated while as 50 supervisors and 1000 health workers; Ashas, Anganwari workers and other personnel are being deployed.

The officers informed that vaccines have already been dispatched to all blocks and snowbound areas of the district including Drass and Zanskar.

Underlining the need to take up proactive steps so as to achieve 100% target in the district, Haji Gulzar Hussain directed the officers to put in place the remaining arrangements well in advance. 

He directed the officers of Education Department to support Health Department by allotting required accommodation at schools for the establishment of vaccination booths.

Another objective is to aware people about the campaign and to conduct door-to-door campaigns in every block of the district so that no child below the age of 5 years is left unimmunized. Also,  the Sub Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars of the Sub Divisions and Tehsils in the district were directed to make all necessary arrangements for the successful implementation of the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme in their respective jurisdictions
