Kargil’s elected representatives pledge to follow fundamental duties

Kargil :

As a part of the ongoing campaign on the Constitution of India, District Administration Kargil organised a programme for the elected representatives of the district on December 8 at Auditorium hall, Kargil. 

A film titled ‘Samvidhan- Making of the Indian Constitution’ was screened which highlighted the history of how the Constitution of India came into being, significance of the Constitution Day, contribution of the makers of the Constitution and Fundamental Duties of Indian citizens.

Feroz Ahmad Khan, CEC, LAHDC, Kargil highlighted the importance of the constitution day, the principles and values. He stressed upon the need to uphold and practice the principles and values enshrined in our Constitution. 
 
Stating the Constitution of India as the best constitutions in the world, he said that we should be proud of its values of equality, freedom of speech, expression, and religion. Also, he emphasized the fundamental duties of the citizens enshrined in the Constitution and to uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India.
 
Congratulating the District Administration and all officers and officials involved with the campaign, Feroz Ahmed Khan urged them to continue reiterating the constitutional values through such programmes as per the scheduled calendar. 

Meanwhile, the CEC and all the elected representatives, district officers and students read out the Preamble to the Constitution followed by a pledge to uphold the fundamental duties.
 
The campaign on the Constitution of India will culminate on April 14, 2020, on Dr. B R Ambedkar's birth anniversary. During this time, a range of activities is being undertaken by different departments.
