KARGIL :
People showed resentment against five hours electricity curtailment on December 21 in Kargil. The protest was led by PDP youth leader Mohammad Sadiq Zaman threatened PDD and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council for strong protest if their grievances wouldn’t be redressed in two days.

Mohammad Sadiq Zaman said, “We will Protest and the responsibility will be either on the concerned departments or Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil after two days if the power curtailment time wouldn’t reduce in Kargil town”.

Protesters also accuse PDD for including Sankoo and Khangral areas with the Chutuk Hydel project due to political influence.

Talking about the areas already connected with DG sets, Solar Light and NHPC, Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil, Aga Syed Hassan Arman said, “ The Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) and PDD should sit together to sought out the matter and if there is any possibility they must look that option too”.

In Kargil, during winter due to freezing temperature power generation is very low because of which people faces electricity crisis. However, this year the power load increased in major areas Sankoo and Khangral after linking with the Chutuk Hydel power Project.
