Jamyang School celebrates World Environment Day

World Environment Day, themed, ‘Only One Earth’ was celebrated at Jamyang School on June 5.

The event was organised by the Health Department Leh to create awareness about the protection of the environment. 

Chief Medical Officer, Leh, Dr. Nurzin Angmo spoke about the significance of World environment day. She shared that World Environment Day 2022 is celebrated under the theme 'Only One Earth' highlighting the need to live sustainably and in harmony with nature by bringing transformative changes through choices toward cleaner, greener lifestyles.

She said that planet is our home whose finite resources humanity must safeguard.  
 
Earlier, Secretary, Jamyang School, Padma Yangchan addressed the gathering regarding World Environment Day and enlightened the gathering about the significance of this day. She said that it is a day for promoting worldwide awareness and action for the environment.

Further, she added that over the years, it has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people across the world.
 
Students from Jamyang School, Leh spoke on World Environment Day and participated in the painting competition.
 
Later, a plantation drive was carried out within the campus by guests, students, and faculty members.
