Islamic scholar Sheikh Muqaddas Pashkumi's books released in Kargil
CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, attended the book release ceremony of renowned Islamic scholar and former Vice President of Jamiat Ulama Isna Ashariya Kargil, Hujjat-ul-Islam wa Al-Muslimeen Sheikh Mohammad Hussain Muqaddas Pashkumi, at the Jamiatul Ulama Isna Asharia Kargil on July 14.
The event marked the release of several scholarly works authored by Sheikh Mohammad Hussain Muqaddas Pashkumi, including Nubuwwat Ki Shua'ain, Nafas-ul-Akhbar, Fazail Ameer-ul-Momineen (A.S.), and Fazail Fatima (S.A.), along with their translated editions in Urdu and Purig.
The ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament (Ladakh) Mohmad Haneefa Jan, President of JUIAK Sheikh Nazir-ul-Mehdi, Director FCS&CA Kargil Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, former Deputy Commissioner Kargil Kacho Isfander Khan, Chairman Haj Committee Kargil Abass Aabidi, religious scholars, intellectuals, councillors, translators, and members of the literary fraternity.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Akhoon praised Sheikh Mohammad Hussain Muqaddas Pashkumi's lifelong service to Islamic scholarship, describing his contributions to Islamic literature and society as invaluable and enduring. He commended the author's humility, dedication to knowledge, and unwavering commitment to preserving Islamic teachings through literature.
Emphasising the enduring value of books, the CEC said literary works serve as a lasting legacy for future generations. He also appreciated the efforts of the translators and all those involved in making these important works accessible to a wider audience. Such initiatives, he noted, play a vital role in promoting knowledge, strengthening moral values, and preserving the region's rich religious and cultural heritage.
Dr. Akhoon also congratulated Sheikh Nazir-ul-Mehdi on his election as a member of the Haj Council and wished him success in his new responsibility.
Reaffirming LAHDC Kargil's commitment to promoting education, literature, and culture, the CEC assured continued support for meaningful literary and educational initiatives that contribute to the intellectual and cultural development of society.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Mohmad Haneefa Jan applauded the author's remarkable contribution to Islamic literature and described the newly released books as a valuable addition to religious scholarship. He also appreciated the efforts made to preserve and disseminate authentic knowledge.
JUIAK President Sheikh Nazir-ul-Mehdi expressed gratitude to the guests, scholars, translators, and contributors for supporting the publication of the books. He described the works as a priceless treasure for future generations and encouraged readers, particularly the youth, to benefit from them.
The author's son also thanked everyone who contributed to the successful publication of the books, acknowledging the dedicated efforts of the translators and publishing institutions in bringing the works to readers.
