Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation programme held in Leh district

A total of 1,132 children below the age of 5 received polio drops in the first phase of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) programme in Khaltse sub-division on January 31. 

Block Medical Officer (BMO), Khaltse, Dr. Iqbal Ahmad inaugurated the IPPI Programme at the community health centre (CHC), Khaltse. 

Out of 1,419 children, including 1325 locals and 94 non-locals, 1132 children were given polio drops at 68 polio booth stations in Khaltse. 

Similarly, 63 children received polio drops in Nyoma sub-division under the supervision of nambardar, Nyoma.
 
Meanwhile, a polio vaccination camp was held under the supervision of Block Medical Officer (BMO), Nubra, Dr. Diskit Dolma at Sub-District Hospital in Diskit. 

The objective of the IPPI programme is to eradicate poliomyelitis (polio) by vaccinating all children below five years.
