Indian Army conducts multi-speciality medical camp in Tia village Fire & Fury Corps organises healthcare outreach under Operation Sadbhavana
The Fire & Fury Corps of the Indian Army successfully conducted a multi-speciality medical camp at Tia village in Ladakh on May 27 as part of the ongoing Operation Sadbhavana initiative.
Operation Sadbhavana, meaning “Goodwill,” is the Indian Army’s flagship humanitarian and civic action programme in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Active since 1998, the initiative focuses on education, healthcare, infrastructure, women’s empowerment, and community development in remote areas with limited access to government services.
Healthcare initiatives, including multi-speciality medical camps, have remained a cornerstone of the programme, delivering essential medical support to remote and underserved populations across the region.
The medical camp witnessed the active participation of civilian doctors specialising in medicine, surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology, dermatology, orthopaedics, and pulmonology. Free consultations and treatment were provided to local residents, ex-servicemen, and their families in the remote high-altitude village of Tia.
The initiative reaffirmed the Fire & Fury Corps’ commitment to the well-being of people living in Ladakh’s frontier areas. The camp addressed critical healthcare needs in a region where access to specialised medical services remains severely limited due to geographical isolation and extreme weather conditions.
Tia village, situated in a remote high-altitude region of Ladakh, continues to face persistent challenges in accessing quality healthcare because of its difficult terrain and harsh climatic conditions. This initiative directly benefited numerous local civilians and ex-servicemen families by providing specialised medical consultations and treatments that would otherwise be inaccessible.
The effort also underscored the Fire & Fury Corps’ dedication to holistic development and to ensuring the health and welfare of citizens living in sensitive border areas, while fostering trust and national integration.
