India Foundation distributes traditional dresses as school uniforms in Kargil

 For the first time in the history of Kargil, Delhi-based NGO, India Foundation distributed traditional dresses as winter uniform to the students of Government Middle School Gongma Minjee Kargil on April 3.

Although, many NGOs are working for the development of Health, Education etc but this was out of the box which was an initiative preserve the cultural identity of the people of Kargil getting influenced by the western and other cultures.
 
CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Haji Hanifa, with gratitude and appreciation to the India Foundation distributed the dresses.

He appreciated the efforts of the local youth and first NSD graduate from the village for his efforts and endeavours to organise this programme and approaching the International Level NGO India Foundation for this prestigious initiative.
Shamim Ahmad, School headmaster presented vote of thanks and thanked the NGO and Kacho Ahmad Khan for starting the initiative from his school.

Villagers along with ZEO Kargil and VEC member Ghulam Mehdi Sheikh were also present.

This is the beginning of the initiative to distribute these dresses which will be extended to other schools by the India Foundation and this has raised a hope among the people of this frontier district.
