Igoo celebrates launch of Ladakh Model High School

Ladakh Model High School Igoo was inaugurated on April 27 by Bhanu Prabha, Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, UT Ladakh, in the presence of officials, the Headmaster, SMDC members, Goba, and local villagers.

The upgradation of Government High School Igoo into a model school marks a significant milestone in strengthening the education sector in the region. The initiative reflects the Administration’s commitment to enhancing educational standards, improving infrastructure, and ensuring the holistic development of students.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the participation of the school Headmaster, teaching staff, parents, students, VEC Chairman, Goba, Shakya Tsokpa President and members, along with other prominent members of the community.

During her visit, the Administrative Secretary conducted a detailed inspection of the campus, including the nursery section, classrooms, and both boys’ and girls’ hostels. She interacted with the Headmaster, teachers, VEC Chairman, Goba, and representatives of the Shakya Tsokpa, discussing key aspects such as hostel facilities, classroom conditions, and overall institutional development.

Bhanu Prabha appreciated the efforts of the school authorities, SMDC, and parents for their active cooperation in developing and maintaining the institution.

The programme was further enlivened by cultural performances presented by students, including traditional dances, songs, and modern acts, adding vibrancy to the occasion.

The inauguration marks a new beginning in the pursuit of quality education and a brighter future for students in the region.
