Hill Council, Leh, takes stock of vegetable distribution Directs committee to ensure fair distribution as per Council list

Hill Council, Leh took stock of vegetable distribution in various blocks of the Leh district on April 12 at Cooperative Super Market Store, Leh.

Gyal P Wangyal, CEC directed officers of the committee constituted by Hill Council, Leh headed by Dr. Zahida Bano ADC, Leh to distribute vegetables and other essential commodities as per the list prepared by Hill Council, Leh. He asked to ensure equal and fair distribution as per the list strictly. At sub-divisional level, SDMs will ensure equal and fair distribution of vegetables and will report Hill Council accordingly. 

Phuntsog Stanzin, EC Agriculture and Cooperative said that Hill Council is trying its best to cover and distribute vegetables equally in every village. 

He said that the vegetables are distributed in coordination with people representatives and as per the list prepared by Hill Council, Leh based on the tentative census data of 2017-18 for Leh district. The list of tenants and labours obtained from concerned Gobas in Leh town area is also being considered for the supply of vegetables. 

To reduce the possibility of infection and to lessen the concern of people, Phuntsog Stanzin further informed that before distribution vegetables are stored in Leh for a couple of days and on the third day, the vegetables are being distributed.

The vegetables were distributed in seven blocks and as per the roster; other blocks will be covered in the coming days.
