Hill Council, Leh inspects Upshi screening point

Gyal P Wangyal, CEC along with Councillor Igoo, Tsering Paldan inspected screening point established at toll post-Upshi on June 13.

All inbound passengers and vehicles coming from Manali road are being screened at the Upshi point.

SDM Kharu, A.G Zargar and Incharge Upshi Screening Point, Dr. Tsering Lamchung briefed about the screening and registration process of the passengers and vehicles.  It was informed that till date about 1409 Tankers/Trucks, 65 LMV, 18 buses and 527 passengers have crossed Upshi screening point. 

Hill Council, Leh handed over sanitizers, gloves, and masks to corona warriors at Upshi screening point and thanked them for working tirelessly in combating COVID-19. 

He stressed corona warriors to ensure strict screening of vehicles and passengers so that no suspected person enters Leh via Upshi saying that Leh is already dealing with sudden rise in COVID-19 cases. 

Sarpanch Shara, Sonam Thardos and Sarpanch Gya-Meru, Tsering Dawa was also present.
