Haji Anayat tours Zanskar subdivision, takes stock of local issues

A four-day tour of Haji Anayat Ali, Chairman, Legislative Council to Zanskar sub division was concluded on November 5. 

Haji Anayat Ali interacted with a number of public delegations and took the first-hand appraisal of their issues and grievances.

The inhabitants of Tashi Stongday, Rangdum, and Shakma Karpoo highlighted their demands pertaining to the installation of mobile towers, provision of DSPT phones, repair of irrigation khuls, water reservoirs and flood protection bunds and also making the timely availability of medicines and treatment of cattle diseases.
 
Whereas, people of Farol, Parkachik, Achambur, Tai Suru and Panikhar areas demanded immediate repair of major irrigation khul and completion of the remaining works of footbridge at Achambur, provision of DSPT phones, adequate stock of medicare facilities for winter months, repair of water supply schemes and pipelines, opening of sheep husbandry center at Farol Parkachik among several other demands.

Tai Suru and Panikhar demanded the construction of a number of link roads between Dak Bungalow Tai Suru to Astana Khor and Pursa, construction of parking lot cum playground and ice hockey rink, bridge at Nam Suru, water reservoir at Goma Kargee, flood protection works at Maitaa Broq, blacktopping of road from Nam Suru bridge to Khaos besides other demands.

He assured the fulfillment of their demand in a phased manner. 

Haji Anaya Ali announced 20 solar water heaters out of his CDF funds in favour of the villagers of Tashi Stongday, Shakma Karpoo, Rangdum and Rangdum Gonpa, generator set in Tashi Stongday besides kitchen set and 6 sewing machines for Farol Parkachik hamlet.

He directed concerned officers to identify BPL families for the provision of free LPG connections under PMUY scheme. He also underlined the need to provide training in cattle disease management and treatment to local youth in areas where there is no facility of animal and sheep husbandry centers besides to create a separate head ‘honorarium to paramedics’ under the district plan to meet out their honorarium. 
 
Meanwhile, the officers of Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) were directed to release the pending honoraria in favour of solar power plant operators.   While assuring the delegations of the fulfillment of all their genuine demands, he directed the engineers of PWD department to prepare DPRs for construction of bridges, roads, playground and other projects. He also directed them to carry out the repair works immediately so that the people do not face further inconvenience and the concerned officers to ensure stocking of medicines in three days time.
 
The Chairman also inaugurated the renovated and facelifted Police post buildings at Sankoo and Panikhar.
