Haji Anayat Ali conducts extensive tour of Zanskar

To appraise the problems and grievances of the people, Haji Anayat Ali, Chairman, J&K Legislative Council on July 22 visited various areas in Zanskar Tehsil.
 
Haji Anayat Ali visited Padum Doksang, Shagar, Togtha, Atting, Phey, Manda, Skagam, Khushul, Abran, Aksho, and Karsha.

At Padum he asked the concerned to prepare estimates under Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for construction of boundary wall near old mosque Padum. Also asked to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of a footbridge over Stod River at Phey village and submit the same to the concerned quarter for accord of necessary sanction.

He further asked Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) to conduct a survey of the Tehsil and prepare plans for Solar Light Projects for the areas without solar light facilities.

Referring the developmental works under execution in the Tehsil Zanskar, he said that the construction work of laying OFC is in pace and various places have already been identified for the installation of mobile towers. The concerned have been already directed to speed up the pace of work and complete as soon as possible. 
He also informed that up-gradation and construction of Pani Khar-Zanskar road have been sanctioned and is expected to be completed within two years. Also, the DPRs for several other link roads is already submitted to the Government.

The completion of these road projects will change the socio-economic condition of the place.

Haji Anayat Ali also visited various Gonpas included Stakrimo and Zungkhul and interacted with the heads of the monks and nuns. He praised the existence of exemplary communal harmony among people of different religion in the area.

The heads of the monastery projected various demands including construction of link roads, adequate drinking water facilities, installation of solar lights, toilet facilities, issuance of kitchen sets, Gen Sets and mobile facilities.

Haji Anayat Ali assured to take up their demand with the concerned for early redressal. Whereas, in some of the cases, he gave on-spot direction to the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar to solve important public interest issues on priority.
 
Rakesh Sharma, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Zanskar, Abdul Ahad Bhat, Assistant Director Information, senior officers of various departments including KREDA, R & B, President Zanskar Buddhist Association accompanied the Chairman during his tour.
