Gyal P Wangyal visits Leh old town area

Gyal P Wangyal, CEC, Hill Council, Leh along with Deputy Chairman, Tsering Sandup took stock of the ongoing developmental works carried out in Kharyok, Manekhang, and Skynos area of lower Leh on June 25.

People of Kharyok, Manekhang, and Skynos demanded, construction of Kharyok to Chutay Rantak footpath, widening of the drainage system, relaxation in construction of basic necessity like toilet inside the Archeological zone, rehabilitate to another place, new connection and regular supply of drinking water, collection of garbage at various location and other related demands.

Responding to the demand of Kharyok footpath, Gyal P Wangyal informed that the fund has been sanctioned under Capex budget and work will start in the coming days. Talking about the collection of garbage from the area, Administrator MC was directed to collect the waste on every alternate day. Executive Engineer, PHE was asked to speed up the tender process and others work for the new connection of the water supply line.

Gyal P Wangyal assured to redress all other demands in a phased manner.

Councilor Lower Leh, Phuntsog Wangdan; Nominated Councilor, Rinchen Lhamo; Dy. Superintending (Archeological Survey of India), Mini circle, Leh, Tsering Phunchok; ACD Leh, Sonam Chosjor; Administrator MC, Leh, A.G Zargar; AD Tourism, Leh, Jigmet Namgyal and Ex-en of concerned department were also present.
