A lecture series on “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and National Integration” commenced at Government Degree College (GDC) Zanskar on March 27.

Principal Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi highlighted the importance of such academic initiatives in promoting awareness about national unity and integration among students.

The lecture series is being coordinated by Dr. Zaffer Iqbal, Assistant Professor (Education). The initiative will run from March to August and aims to explore the life, contributions, and role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in strengthening national integration in India.

Dr. Akbar Ali, Assistant Professor (Political Science), GDC Zanskar, delivered a lecture on the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He elaborated on the concept of national integration, its significance, and its relevance in contemporary society.

He also discussed the origins of national integration in civilisation and provided clear definitions and insights to enhance students’ understanding of the subject.

The session proved to be informative and engaging, helping students appreciate the historical as well as contemporary relevance of national integration. The lecture emphasised the importance of unity, diversity, and collective responsibility in nation-building.

The event marked a significant academic beginning to a series of lectures expected to enrich students’ knowledge and inspire them to contribute positively to society.
