Foundation stone of Kargil girl’s hostel laid in Sidhra, Jammu

Feroz Ahmad Khan, CEC, Kargil laid the foundation stone of Kargil Girl’s Hostel on October 1 at Sidhra, Jammu.
 
The project was approved under the District Plan at a cost of ₹ 10 crore is targeted to be completed by the end of June 2021. The hostel spread over an area of 5 kanals will have a reading room, dining hall, canteen, badminton court, and other required facilities. It will provide accommodation facilities to more than 170 girl students.
 
Feroz Ahmed Khan said that the Hill Council, Kargil is committed to providing satisfactory residential facilities to Kargil students and travellers in the cities of Srinagar, Jammu, and Delhi. He said that the repairing and renovation works of Boys Hostel Kargil are presently underway in full swing while an ambulance has also been sanctioned for the hostel which is being procured soon.
 
While stressing students to be serious and conscious of their studies, he exhorted upon them to strive for enhancing their capabilities in line with the needs of the present competitive world.
 
A representative of Student Union Jammu, Shahida Akhtar on behalf of the girl students studying in Jammu expressed gratitude to the CEC Kargil for having sanctioned the construction of the hostel in Jammu as committed by him during the Annual Function of the students union during the winter season. 
 
President Boys Hostel, Jammu, Muhammad Hussain also thanked the CEC for the renovation and repair works and sanctioning of an ambulance for the hostel. 
 
He also projected demand for the establishment of a library in the hostel. 
 
Warden Boys Hostel, Jammu, Jehangir Ahmad, AEE PWD, Kargil, Mansoor Ahmad, members of All Kargil Students Union besides other concerned officials and students were present on the occasion.
