Five-day FLN training workshop begins in Leh

Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) training workshop for 5- days  begins on January 1 at DIET, Leh.

Experts, Resource Person at Samagra Shiksha Education Department Chandigarh, Dr. Openderjeet Kour and Academic Resource Person at Education Department, UT Chandigarh, Dr. Ravinder Kumar will conduct the five-day training cum workshop.

The workshop, scheduled from January 1st to 5th, 2024, will delve into crucial aspects of education, including an overview of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for the Foundational Stage, pedagogy of the foundational stage, Vidya Pravesh Pedagogical Strategies & Assessment, and the preparation of students/teacher’s handbook for FLN.

Principal of DIET Leh, Chetan Dorje expressed confidence that the five-day workshop would prove to be highly productive for FLN teachers from various zones of Leh district. He emphasised the workshop's significance, stating that such initiatives are crucial given the current educational landscape.

Approximately 150 FLN teachers participated in the inaugural session, showcasing a strong commitment to enhancing their skills and staying abreast of the latest developments in education.

The program aligns with the broader goals of the NIPUN Bharat Mission and addresses the foundational literacy and numeracy needs outlined in the FLN initiative. As the training progresses, participants anticipate gaining valuable insights that will positively impact their teaching methodologies, benefiting the students they serve.
