First batch of stranded Ladakhi students from Kota reach Kargil

The first batch of Ladakhis comprising 58 students from Kota Rajasthan, 31 from Leh and 27 from Kargil reached Kargil on April 29 afternoon.

The students were extended a warm welcome on their arrival by Sonam Chosjor, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil at Tourist Facilitation Center (TFC), Kargil.

ADC while interacting with the students inquired about their well being and urged them to strictly follow the social distancing norms. They were also asked to follow the SOPs and guidelines issued by the Government to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus. 

ADC said that the students from both districts will be kept in 14 days mandatory institutional quarantine at the respective quarantine facilities.

Later, after lunch, the students from Leh were taken to Leh where they will also be kept in 14 days quarantine before proceeding to their respective destinations.

Meanwhile, the students expressed gratitude to the UT Administration for facilitating their return back home.
