Farmers' training camp held in Digar

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Leh organised a training camp to the farmers of seven villages of Digar, Tangyar, Khema, Khyungru, Labab, Aghyam and Kongto at  Digar on 28 November.

More than 240 farmers attended the programme. The farmers were acquainted on various technologies viz. off season vegetable cultivation technologies in trenches and green houses, organic Farming, Livestock management etc.

Dr. Dorjay Namgyal, Associate Professor/PC, KVK Leh, stressed the need to adopt improved/modern farming technologies to make farming less cumbersome and remunerative. 

The farmer was also provided with pamphlets containing different technological aspects of the KVK, half of which were in the local language.  

The training cum awareness programme ended with interaction between the farmers and the scientific staff of the KVK, Leh.
