Farmers’ hostel inaugurated in Kargil to boost agricultural support
Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena inaugurated the Farmers’ Hostel of the Agriculture Department at Lower Kurbathang, Kargil, on July 26, marking a significant step towards strengthening agricultural support infrastructure for the farming community in the district.
Following the inauguration, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with farmers and listened to their grievances and suggestions regarding agricultural development and related issues. He assured them of the Administration's continued support to promote sustainable farming practices and improve farmers' livelihoods.
L-G Saxena also visited the Hi-Tech Greenhouses established by the Agriculture Department, where he appreciated the efforts of the department and progressive farmers in adopting modern agricultural techniques. During the visit, he reviewed crop production, cultivation practices and the overall performance of the greenhouse units. He encouraged farmers to make full use of advanced technologies to enhance productivity and increase their income.
The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon; Member of Parliament (Ladakh), Mohmad Haneefa Jan; Executive Councillors of LAHDC Kargil; and senior officers of the district administration and the Agriculture Department.
