The Election Commission of India (ECI), in coordination with the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, UT Ladakh, conducted a comprehensive training session for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at the Conference Hall of the DC Office, Leh, on June 6. The session aimed to enhance the efficiency, preparedness, and understanding of BLOs in their critical roles during field operations.

An eight-member team led by A.K. Pathak, Secretary, Election Commission of India, visited Leh for a series of field engagements and training programmes under the banner of the Election Commission India Adventure Sports Club (ECIASC).

The training featured a detailed presentation outlining the key responsibilities of BLOs during on-site duties. It included instructions on accurately filling out voter-related forms, correcting errors, reporting lost voter cards, and addressing other related issues.

An open forum was also held, allowing BLOs to voice grievances and seek clarifications. Many shared the unique challenges they face in the field and exchanged strategies to effectively overcome them.

BLOs from various locations across the district attended the session.

This initiative reflects the ECI’s commitment to strengthening its grassroots electoral machinery and ensuring a smooth, inclusive, and transparent electoral process.
