EC Zakir attends MoU signing ceremony for Government Model Middle School Wakha
Executive Councilor Zakir Hussain attended the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Education Department and the School Management and Development Committee/Village Education Committee (SMDC/VEC) members of Government Model Middle School in Wakha, Kargil, on March 8.
For the first time in Kargil district's history, a private institution, Wakha Public School Wakha, including all assets, buildings, and approximately 8 kanals of land, was handed over to the Education Department and merged with the government. Similarly, Middle School Kharkhore was also merged with the Government Model Middle School Wakha in the presence of Councillor Shargole, CEO, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), and SMDC/VEC Members.
In his concluding speech, Executive Councilor Zakir emphasized the importance of SMDC/VEC members and parents prioritizing the creation of an educational environment at home and providing special attention to students. He commended the efforts of SMDC/VEC members for their keen interest in the students and assured them of full support from the Education Department and LAHDC.
The school was officially adopted as a Model School under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode and renamed Government Model Middle School Wakha. Initially, a committee will be formed by CEO Kargil to oversee the replacement of school books and uniforms. The EC instructed the CEO Kargil to ensure that all necessary items, including furniture and furnishings, are provided for the school.
