EC Tashi flags- off progressive farmers on exposure tour

Progressive farmers of Leh district were sent for a two-day exposure tour organised by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Leh under the Agricultural Technology and Management Agency (ATMA) scheme of the Government of India on March 26.

The tour was flagged off by Executive Councillor for Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee from Animal Husbandry farm, Changspa, Leh.

Around 100 progressive farmers from Durbuk, Nyoma, Sakti, Kharu, Chushot, and Thiksey blocks will visit DIHAR, SKUAST, and other important areas in Leh.

EC Tashi shared that the exposure tour is an opportunity for farmers to learn from their counterparts who are engaged in different farming styles. He urged the farmers to learn best practices and implement them on their farms.

He also directed the concerned officials to seek feedback from farmers post-exposure tour.

Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Leh, Dr. Mohd Iqbal, and other officials of the Animal Husbandry Department were present on the occasion.
