\r\nAfter a visit to the Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Dorje Motup, EC, Higher Education convened a meeting with the college Principal to discuss various issues and problem on September 7 at Council Secretariat, Leh.\r\n

\r\nA detail discussion was carried out on the sanctioning of lecturer for education, filling up of physiology lecturer post, construction of hostel, regular operation of College bus, water supply etc.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nIt was revealed that till now no post for the education lecturer has been sanctioned and also the post of physiology has been remained vacant.\r\n

\r\n
\r\n

\r\nEC directed the principal to submit the total sanctioned post to the Council in order to take up the matter with the higher authorities to fill up the vacant post and sanctioning the post of required lecturer.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nRegarding water supply, the principal informed that only one submersible pump is set up in the college which is not sufficient for both drinking and plantation purpose. Therefore, a demand was put forward for an additional submersible pump.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nTalking about the College Hostel, EC said that, a proposal for a construction of hostel building has been submitted to the government which needs follow-up.  For running girls hostel in the existing building constructed under BADP, EC directed the principal to submit a detailed proposal to the council. He also assured for an early completion of the 3 additional class rooms which are under construction.\r\n

\r\nEC directed the principal to bring change in academic as well as work culture in the college.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nMeanwhile, EC also inspected Polytechnic College, Choglamsar and assessed the ongoing construction works of a new building for Electronic and Electrical streams and directed executing agencies for earliest completion.\r\n
