Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Altaf Hussain, on July 17 visited Middle School Karkitchoo following a recent fire incident that damaged the school's kitchen facility.

During the visit, the Executive Councillor inspected the affected area and assessed the extent of the damage. He interacted with the Principal, teachers, school staff, and local residents to take stock of the situation.

The school administration informed him that the fire had completely destroyed essential kitchen utensils and related equipment, and requested immediate restoration of the damaged kitchen to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the school's midday meal services.

The visit was accompanied by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) and the concerned Junior Engineer (JE).

During the inspection, Altaf Hussain directed the Junior Engineer to expedite the ongoing footpath construction work within the school premises. The school authorities also sought renovation of the school building and fencing of the campus to improve the safety and security of students.

Assuring full support, the Executive Councillor said that all genuine demands would be taken up with the concerned departments for early redressal. He further assured that every effort would be made to restore the damaged infrastructure and improve facilities at the school.
