Drass administration gears up for Muharram, DC Imteeaz Kacho reviews preparations
Deputy Commissioner, District Drass, Imteeaz Kacho, on June 18 chaired a meeting in his office chamber to review and finalize arrangements for the peaceful and smooth observance of Muharram in the district.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police, Drass, Ishtyaq Kacho; Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Drass, Vishal Atri; Block Medical Officer, Dr. Sajjad Hussain; Block Development Officer, Drass/Bhimbat, Shahid Sultan; Tehsil Supply Officers; Junior Engineers from R&B and PHE departments; and heads of various religious organizations of Drass.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on ensuring adequate arrangements for the dignified observance of Muharram. The deliberations focused on uninterrupted drinking water supply, power availability, sanitation and cleanliness, healthcare preparedness, availability of essential commodities, traffic management, and maintenance of law and order. The timings of gatherings and processions were also discussed in detail.
Representatives of religious organizations apprised the Deputy Commissioner of their requirements and concerns. The Deputy Commissioner assured them that all necessary arrangements would be put in place well in advance. He directed the concerned departments to maintain close coordination and remain fully prepared to facilitate the gatherings and processions.
Superintendent of Police, Drass, Ishtyaq Kacho, stressed the importance of maintaining peace, communal harmony, and effective coordination among all stakeholders during Muharram. He assured full support from the District Police to ensure a peaceful, secure, and orderly observance.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the commitment of the District Administration to provide all possible support for the peaceful and hassle-free conduct of Muharram gatherings and processions across Drass District.
