District Congress committee, Leh, calls DC Prasanna over issues

To discuss the issues faced by the people of Leh, a delegation of District Congress Committee, Leh called DC, Leh Prasanna Ramaswamy G on April 11 in Leh.

The delegation comprised of Tsering Samphel, President DCC, Leh, Councillor Korzok Constituency Gurmet Dorje, Capt.Tsephel, President Congress Seva Dal and other Ex-Councilors and executive members.

The issues discussed on the day includes heavy snowfall and the damaged caused, frequent power cuts and unreliable power supply in the district, unprecedented failure of the internet facility, delay in sanctioning of funds for the permanent restoration of the 2010 floods affected irrigation khuls and canals and excessive fees charge for the taxi permits.

The delegation sought for an adequate relief to the farmers, who have suffered loss due to the heavy snowfall.

Over the frequent power cuts and unreliable power supply, the delegation was assured for the smooth electricity supply within 2-3 days.  Talking on an Adhaar Card issue, more than 40% of the district population has not been issued and others bear errors.
  
Regarding the matter, DC assured that the process will resume soon on a priority basis.

On the sanctioning of funds for the permanent restoration of the 2010 floods affected irrigation khuls and damaged canals, it was informed that the case is still pending with the government.  Regarding the Taxi permits fees, he informed that the ₹ 15000 is fixed by the Government and the additional ₹ 5000 will be charged for Red Cross Fund which will be used for emergency relief purpose.
