District Administration, Leh finalizes action plan under Jal Jeevan Mission

Discussion and finalization of the action plan under Jal Jeevan Mission held in the meeting of District Water Sanitation Mission (DWSM) on May 18 at DC conference hall.

Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Deputy Commissioner/Chairperson (DWSM), asked the department to coordinate with other sectors to harness from different sources and bring piped water to every household. He stressed public participation in executing the work.

He further urged upon the implementing agencies to complete the work within a time frame, ensuring quality.

The scheme envisages supply of 55 liters of water per person per day and provides Functional Household Tab Connection (FHTC) to every rural household by 2024. The source of water will be rejuvenated for ensuring the success of the mission.

Chief Planning Officer also Member/Coordinator of (DWSM), Chief Medical Officer Leh, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Executive Engineers of PHE, PHE civil, Mechanical division, and I&FC attended the meeting.

Inputs to make the Jal Jeevan Mission more result-oriented for the people living in rural areas were put forward by all the officials.
