Director RDD reviews progress of centrally sponsored schemes and development projects in Leh

Director of Rural Development Department (RDD), UT Ladakh, Syed Sajad Qadri, chaired a review meeting on June 17 at the Conference Hall of the RDD Office, Leh, to assess the physical and financial progress of various schemes and projects, including Centrally Sponsored Schemes, the Special Development Package (SDP), and Grants-in-Aid (GIA).
The meeting focused on evaluating the implementation of key Centrally Sponsored Schemes such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G), Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin (SBM-G), Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP), National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), and others under SDP, SSP, and GIA.
Director Qadri reviewed block-wise progress and took stock of incomplete projects, directly addressing Junior Engineers (JEs) and seeking clarifications on project delays. He directed all Block Development Officers (BDOs) and JEs to ensure the timely completion of pending works by July 15.
Reiterating the administration’s full support, he urged officials to communicate any challenges or bottlenecks they encounter and assured them of necessary assistance to ensure smooth execution of all ongoing projects.
He further emphasized the importance of accountability, dedication, and timely execution of responsibilities to achieve tangible results on the ground.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development A.G. Zargar; Executive Engineer, REW Leh; District Panchayat Officer, Leh; BDOs from various blocks; Project Manager WDC–PMKSY Leh; and representatives from implementing agencies including NPCCL, WAPCOS, CPWD, and NHIDCL.
