DIET Leh concludes six-day workshop to revise Bhoti textbooks Experts review and reframe textbooks for Classes III onwards in line with NEP 2020 and national curriculum framework

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, successfully concluded a six-day Bhoti Textbook Review and Reframing Workshop held from July 6 to 11 to review, revise and reframe Bhoti textbooks for Classes III onwards.

The workshop aimed to develop learner-centred, culturally relevant and pedagogically sound textbooks in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF). During the programme, the Bhoti Textbook Core Committee, comprising eminent Bhoti language experts, academicians and experienced teachers, undertook an extensive review of the draft textbooks before finalising them through detailed deliberations and collaborative planning.

The committee included Dr. Jamyang Wangchuk (HSS Tingmosgang), Dr. Lotos Rabgais (DIET Leh), Ven. Tashi Gyaltsan (HSS Saspol), Padma Wangail (HS Gya), Ven. Konchok Tsering (HSS Skurbuchan), Dr. Tsering Dolker (Boys HSS Leh), and Ven. Konchok Stanzin (HS Thiksey). Their collective expertise helped enhance the academic quality, linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance of the Bhoti textbooks.

On the concluding day, S. D. Namgail, Principal, DIET Leh, appreciated the committee members and Bhoti language experts for their dedication, commitment and hard work throughout the workshop. He felicitated the experts in recognition of their valuable contribution to the promotion and development of Bhoti language education.

The Principal urged the participants to continue contributing towards the advancement of the Bhoti language through research, curriculum development and the preparation of high-quality educational resources. He stressed that sustained efforts are essential to preserve and promote the Bhoti language, culture, traditions, heritage and the unique way of life of the people of Ladakh for future generations.

The successful completion of the workshop marks another significant milestone in DIET Leh's ongoing efforts to strengthen mother tongue-based education and preserve Ladakh's rich linguistic and cultural heritage through quality, learner-centred and culturally responsive educational resources.
