Deputy Chairman reviews transfer of teachers, implementation of National Education Policy

Leh :

Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk discussed measures regarding the general transfer of teachers in the Government Schools of Leh district, National Education Policy (NEP), and its proper implementation in the district.
 
 The officials apprised Dy Chairman about the status of various developmental works being carried out in the education sector in Leh.

Dy Chairman emphasized rationalizing the transfer of teachers based on the requirement for the availability of subject teachers in the schools. He directed the officials to prepare a report in this regard and complete the process of teacher transfer before the opening of government schools after the winter vacation in the Leh district this year.
 
 He discussed the need for preparing hostels and transportation facilities for the students. The officials were asked to prepare a model for upgrading school infrastructures along with hostels.

Dy Chairman Angchuk stressed achieving the target of 100 percent literacy rate in Leh and highlighted the need for introducing skill-developing and vocational courses in line with the ‘Padhna Likhna Abhiyan’ scheme by the Government of India. Further, a phase-wise development to bring quality education which would also make students closer to their native culture and upbringing of a global vision in every student was also emphasized by the Dy Chairman.
 
The officials present during the meeting were Chief Education Officer, Leh; Dy Chief Education Officer, Kharu; Zonal Education Officer, Leh; Principal, Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh, and Principal, Govt. Higher Secondary School, Khaltse.
