DC Leh reviews implementation status of Mission Amrit Sarovar

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse reviewed the progress of the Mission Amrit Sarovar initiative in the district Leh on June 8.
 
The objective of Mission Amrit Sarovar is the construction/development of at least 75 Amrit Sarovar (ponds) in every district.
 
During the meeting, the Rural Development Department presented a proposed action plan to construct new ponds/rejuvenate the existing water storage structures through MGNREGA. Apart from that, the status of Zings/ice hockey rings was also discussed under PMJVK in four minority concentration blocks.
 
DC instructed the concerned officials for joint visits consisting of officers from RDD, Irrigation Department, and PHE in each block within 1 week and directed to submit a detailed feasibility report based on the availability of land, the possibility of source strengthening for JJM schemes, and the expected irrigational benefits.
 
The meeting was attended by SE PHE Leh; ACD Leh; Ex-En I&FC and all BDOs.
