Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve discussed the progress and action plans of the Vibrant Village Programme at the DC mini Conference Hall on June 17. The meeting aimed to evaluate the ongoing initiatives under the programme and strategize the way forward for its successful implementation.

Highlighting the vision and goals of the Vibrant Village Programme, CPO Leh apprised the DC Leh on the profile of the region of Changthang, focusing on the 35 hamlets under Vibrant Village Programme, the initiatives undertaken to develop the Changthang region and future proposals under the Vibrant Village program.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, along with key officials from various departments, reviewed the progress made so far in implementing the programme's action plans. They assessed the achievements, challenges, and opportunities encountered during the initial phases of implementation. The meeting also provided a platform for officials to share their experiences and exchange ideas on effectively utilizing resources and optimizing the impact of the Vibrant Village Programme.

Recognizing the importance of collaboration, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for seamless coordination among different departments and stakeholders involved in the programme.

The meeting also served as an opportunity to identify areas where additional support or resources may be required to ensure the smooth execution of the Vibrant Village Programme.

Deputy Commissioner directed officials from various departments to prepare the estimates of the project report and submit it by July 25 focusing on livelihood-generating activities enhancing rural employment.

Moreover, discussions revolved around the effective utilization of funds allocated for the programme and the establishment of robust monitoring mechanisms to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective measures as needed.

While discussing the homestay schemes, he directed the tourism department to provide exposure to the homestay owners so that they can provide quality facilities to the tourists in the far-flung area. Also, directed the Sheep Husbandry Department to prepare a project focusing on occupation diversification at the earliest.

Furthermore, the Chief Medical Officer, Leh requested the DC Leh to provide 2 Gynecologists, an ambulance and the repair of the oxygen plant in Tangste.

Deputy Commissioner expressed optimism about the programme's potential to bring about transformative changes in the rural landscape of Leh and urged everyone involved to contribute their best towards its success.
