DC Kargil reviews staff attendance, health infrastructure in district

Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar chaired a comprehensive meeting of the Health Department at his office on February 24, emphasizing punctuality and accountability of staff across all health institutions in the district.

He stressed the need for regular attendance of employees at the District Hospital, Block Medical Offices, and all health centres to ensure uninterrupted public service delivery.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho; District Social Welfare Officer Sameena Khatoon; Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr. Mohammad Abbas; Block Medical Officer, Kargil, Dr. Jaleel Ahmad; Nodal Officer (Tobacco Control and Mental Health), Dr. Fatima Nissa; and ENT Specialist Dr. Oliyath Ali. Several Block Medical Officers also joined the meeting virtually.

The Deputy Commissioner directed Block Medical Officers to conduct regular visits to health centres under their jurisdiction and warned that strict action would be taken in cases of absence or dereliction of duty.

He further informed that a face-authentication-based Aadhaar-enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) will soon be introduced at all workplaces, with health institutions to be prioritized. He also stressed effective implementation of the e-Hospital system and discussed measures to strengthen the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission initiative.

In addition, the meeting reviewed infrastructural requirements at the District Hospital and other health institutions, with emphasis on identifying gaps through improved data collection. The need for specialists, particularly cardiologists and gynaecologists, was also discussed.
