DC Kargil reviews preparation for Independence Day celebration

Preparatory meeting for the Independence Day celebration was convened by Baseer ul Haq Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil on August 6.
 
Senior Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Dr. Vinod Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Tsering Motup; SE PWD, Kargil, Ved Prakash, Assistant Commissioner Development, Kargil, Shabir Hussain; Executive Engineers of various Sub Divisions besides other concerned officers were present.
 
Baseer ul Haq Choudhary informed that the main function of Independence Day will be held at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Biamathang while similar functions would be held at Sub Divisional and Tehsil levels as well. National Flag will be hoisted by the VIP while no Independence Day parade and cultural programmes will be held this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
 
Discussion on the decoration of the main venue, seating arrangements, PA System, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, medicare facilities, availability of ambulance, deployment of fire tenders, invitations, cleanliness and sanitation measures, illumination of Government buildings and vital installations, traffic management and other required arrangements was carried out.
 
Concerned officers were directed to ensure proper social distancing norms while making the seating arrangements for the invitees.
 
CMO Kargil was asked to ensure masks and sanitizers to the invitees, participants as well as the officers and officials deployed on duty. District Informatics Officer, Kargil was directed to arrange screens for relay of the Independence Day programme while as the Information Department and Cultural Academy were instructed to prepare pre-recorded solo patriotic items and skits on COVID-19 mitigation measures by the local artists to be relayed during the national function.

Cultural Academy and Information Department were asked to engage local artists in traditional attire to receive the COVID-19 frontline warriors at the venue of the Independence Day function.
 
Deputy Commissioner stressed officers to put in place all necessary arrangements well in time.
