DC Kargil chairs review meeting on Capex Budget 2025–26 expenditure

Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, chaired a comprehensive review meeting on the expenditure under the District Capex Budget 2025–26 at the Conference Hall, Baroo, Kargil, on February 26.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed assessment of progress achieved under both ongoing and newly sanctioned works across various sectors.

Emphasising fiscal discipline and transparency, he stressed the need for proactive coordination between executing agencies and financial authorities to ensure accurate and up-to-date expenditure figures. He directed all departments to immediately reconcile their expenditure data with the Treasury authorities and ensure timely updating of financial records.

The Deputy Commissioner further instructed that any unspent or non-committed funds, where expenditure is not feasible within the stipulated timeframe, must be surrendered by February 27 to facilitate consolidation of accurate financial figures for the closure of the financial year 2025–26.

He highlighted that precise financial reporting is essential for effective planning and formulation of the District Capex Budget for 2026–27.

Additionally, he directed all Heads of Departments to promptly submit and reflect pending requisitions, particularly for projects nearing completion where expenditure can be booked within the current financial year.

The meeting was attended by the Joint Director Finance; Superintending Engineers of R&B and PHE; Executive Engineers of R&B and PHE divisions of Kargil and Sankoo; Executive Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control; Accounts Officers of various departments; Block Development Officers; Divisional Forest Officer; and other district and sectoral officers.
