DC, Balasaheb Suse inspects COVID-19 screening point in Upshi

Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse inspected the Covid-19 screening point in Upshi on April 10.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Kharu block; Additional Superintending of Police (ASP), Leh and Block Medical Officer (BMO), Kharu, and officials from BRO/GREF were also present.

Shrikant Suse took stock of the arrangements for the screening and testing of the passengers arriving in Ladakh from Manali by road. He directed SDM Kharu to establish a quarantine centre at Upshi with necessary facilities for isolating people who test Covid positive during the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at the Upshi screening point. 

The SDM was also asked to ensure elaborate arrangements for strict monitoring of all inbound passengers and making adequate arrangements for the boarding and lodging of the staff deployed on duty. ASP Leh was asked to deploy additional manpower for the same purpose.

Representatives from BRO/ GREF were instructed to ensure that it is mandatory for labourers engaged by them for various works in Ladakh to bring negative RT PCR reports. They were also asked to sensitize labourers on following COVID guidelines before deploying them to different places.
