CRO discusses Tibetan refugee taxi drivers issues with Hill Council, Leh

Chief Representative Officer (CRO), Sonamling Settlement, Leh, Tsetan Wangchuk raised several issues faced by the Tibetans residing in Leh with CEC, Hill Council, Leh, Tashi Gyalson on April 6 at CRO office Choglamsar.

Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang, Home Minister, CTA, Dharamsala; President ALTA, Dorjay Angchuk; Tibetan Taxi Driver Union led by Karma Tsering Tashi were also present. 

CRO apprised CEC of problems faced by the Tibetan taxi drivers in Leh, especially in purchasing taxis. He further requested CEC Gyalson to implement a rehabilitation policy for the Tibetans residing in Leh for their benefit. 

President, ALTA, Dorjay Angchuk shared his experience and assured to discuss and resolve all the genuine problems faced by Tibetan taxi drivers very soon. 

CEC Gyalson assured to assist and informed the officials that he would take up their concerns with the higher authorities for early redressal of the genuine issues faced by the Tibetan refugees in Leh.

Minister of Home, CTA, Sonam Topgyal expressed his gratitude on behalf of CTA to the Hill Council Leh for extending their help in uplifting and supporting the Tibetan community in Ladakh.
