Covid-19 lockdown: 50 students sent from Leh by buses to their homes

Nearly 50 people including students, passengers and patients left to their respective villages in buses after completing 14 days quarantine in different institutions on May 9.

All were evacuated from Kota and Srinagar and were quarantined at Hotel Mansarover and Hotel Spic n Spine. Also, their sample tested negative for COVID-19.

Two buses left for Nubra carrying students and passengers who will be home quarantined under the supervision of SDM Nubra, Sonam Norboo. Also, one bus also left for Shaam area and other vehicles for Tukla and Igoo villages.

Tsering Sandup, Deputy Chairman urged students to follow home quarantine measures honestly at their respective homes as per the instruction of district administration Leh. He stressed on maintaining social distancing, hand washing and wearing of masks for a prolonged time and also urged students to educate villagers about the pandemic and measures needed to be followed in this testing time.

Dr. Zahida Bano, ADC, Leh and team of district officers were looking after the evacuated passengers quarantined in different hotels in Leh.
