Corruption will not be tolerated at any cost: Dr Dawa

A meeting was convened by CEC, LAHDC, Leh , Dr. Sonam Dawa with all department heads and other important stake holders at DC office conference hall on 14 November. The meeting was held to get a feedback on the existing plan, scheme and future proposals of each department.

The meeting was attended by ECs, DC Leh, SSP Leh, representatives from HQ 14 Corps, ITBP, and Air force station, Leh, all HODs, Chief Conservator of Forest, Chief Engineer NHPC, Chief Engineer PDD, Chief Manager SBI, Leh and Technical Director-NIC, Leh.

 CEC stated that his party is being elected with a big mandate and they are committed to stand by their election manifesto and expectations of the people. “Public has elected us for a change and our endeavor is to make this change happen”.  He requested all the officers to bring pace in their routine work with more energy and instructed DC to monitor transparency and accountability in their work.

Dr. Dawa stressed upon the officers to maintain discipline and punctuality in the office and reiterated that corruption will not be tolerated at any cost. He urged every department especially Health and Education department to ensure delivery system at ground level. He requested army, air force, and ITBP to have proper coordination with civil administration to address various issues concerning the development of the region.

 DC, Leh Prasanna Ramaswamy G laid emphasis on the importance of communication and information to ensure a proper mechanism of coordination among every department and stakeholders. “The key ingredients of development are leaders, resources, and vision. We have it all, but the need is to bring them together and bridge the communication gap and information asymmetry”, asserted DC. 

DC appealed all the officers to work as a team; “a family” which he said is the first step towards meaningful planning for development.

 It was informed by DC in the meeting that to meet the purpose of this meeting each department will give a presentation in the coming week based on a particular format. He mentioned that Army, Air force and ITBP too will have their presentations to ensure better understand of various works and schemes are undertaken by them and vice-versa.
