Commissioner Secretary, Tourism, Rigzin Samphel reviewed the preparedness of Ladakh Winter Conclave 2021 at the Secretariat on January 19.

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation, Ladakh Winter Conclave 2021 would be celebrated both online and offline in Leh and Kargil districts. 

The meeting was attended by Director Tourism, UT Ladakh, Leh/Kargil; Assistant Director Information Leh/Kargil, AD Tourism, Leh/Kargil; Deputy Superintendent, Archaeological Survey of India; Dr. Monisha Ahmed, Executive Director, LAMO; President, ALTOA, Leh and President, AKTTA, Kargil.  

Commissioner Secretary Samphel informed that Adventure, Heritage and Culture and post-Covid revival and branding of tourism in Ladakh would be three themes for this year’s Winter Conclave. 

The main highlights of the event would be mountaineering, biking, bouldering, climbing, rafting, heritage walk, panel discussions, visit the Central Asian Museum, Stok Guru Tsechu, and polo matches at Chuchot. 

Rigzin Samphel directed ALTOA and AKTTA to recommend and share names of guests at the earliest. He also directed AD Tourism Leh and Kargil districts to collect the list of volunteers from ALTOA and AKTTA.

President, All Ladakh Hotel and Guest House Association, Leh, Skarma Tsering Delex informed that the preparations on the Winter Conclave in Leh to Commissioner Secretary. 

The arrival of guests for the event would start from February 20, and the opening ceremony would take place on the same day. Three parallel discussions would take place at different venues.
