CHIKTAN :

In a continued effort to foster trust, cooperation, and mutual support, a Civil-Military Liaison Conference (CMLC) was held at Chiktan under the aegis of the Forever in Operations Division on June 16. The event aimed to further strengthen the bond of bonhomie and coordination between the armed forces and the resilient civilian population, including veterans of the Hanu Valley.

The conference is part of a well-established mechanism of regular interactions between civil and military representatives, intended to encourage open dialogue and address local concerns. Meaningful discussions were held between military officials, local leaders, and community elders, focusing on key civic issues such as infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and emergency preparedness.

As part of the outreach initiative, a medical camp was also organized, providing comprehensive healthcare services including general check-ups and free distribution of medicines. A team comprising Medical Officers, nursing assistants, and support staff attended to over 180 patients, with special emphasis on health education covering hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.

This initiative reinforced the enduring spirit of civil-military cooperation, underscoring a shared commitment to the well-being and development of remote communities in Ladakh.
